Privacy Policy

1. The short version

We collect what we need to fulfil your order and nothing more. We do not run analytics, advertising pixels or third-party trackers of any kind on this site. The About page offers a Google map of our Great Falls location, and nothing is requested from Google until you choose to load it. We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not send marketing email.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

• Name, email address and telephone number
• Shipping or delivery address
• Your preferred method of contact
• Your order contents, chosen fulfilment method and payment method
• Your purchaser type, organization (where given) and stated research application, which every order requires
• Your electronic signature on the order agreement, together with the date and time it was signed

Information we do not collect

• Full card numbers. Card payments, when available, are handled by a third-party processor. Card details are entered with that processor, not with us, and we never see or store them.
• Behavioural or advertising data. There are no analytics scripts, pixels or advertising tags on this site.

Stored in your own browser

This site stores two small values locally in your browser: confirmation that you passed the age gate, and any price adjustments made in the catalog. These stay on your device, are not transmitted to us, and can be cleared by clearing your browser data.

3. Why we hold it

• To pack, fulfil and deliver your order
• To contact you about that order by the method you chose
• To confirm that every order is for laboratory research, as our Terms of Service require
• To keep a record of the agreement you signed, which we are required to be able to produce
• To meet our own legal, tax and accounting obligations

We do not use your information for any other purpose, and we do not add you to a mailing list.

4. Who else sees it

A small number of service providers process information on our behalf, each limited to what its function requires:

• Our website host, which serves this site and receives order form submissions
• Our transactional email provider, which delivers your order confirmation
• Our payment processor, for card transactions once those are available
• The United States Postal Service, which receives the name and address needed to deliver a shipped order
• Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces used on this site and therefore receives your IP address as part of that request

We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise disclose your information to anyone else, and we will not do so. We may disclose information where we are legally required to, such as in response to a valid legal order.

5. How long we keep it

Order records, including your signed agreement, are retained for as long as we may need them for legal, tax and accounting purposes — generally a minimum of four years. We do not keep information longer than we have a reason to.

6. Your choices

You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Write to customerservice@montanapep.com or call (406) 799-0812 and we will respond within a reasonable period. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of in that respect.

7. Security

This site is served over HTTPS and order submissions are encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise; we hold as little as we can, for as short a time as we can, which is the most meaningful protection we can offer you.

8. Children

This site is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
